@squirrel okay so I think I figured it out the problem

after thinking I'd figured out the problem six times and realizing I was wrong

there needs to be a / at the end of the BACKUP_DIR directory in the config file

@squirrel yeah <.< it's just concatenating that variable with the backup-folder names, so that's why all the backup folders are databasedatestuff instead of database/datestuff

but then the script is trying to look in the folder database/ but it doesn't exist

(I'm still in but don't have permissions to change, so you'll need to)

@InspectorCaracal also i put you on mastodon group but i think you already had sudo

@squirrel okay I renamed all your existing backup folders to take the extraneous "database" out of the filename so the script can find them and start cleaning up properly

@squirrel and now I should go to bed >.> J turned the lights out and I am sitting in the dark lol
