I am entirely able to believe someone chose the handle "loose moose". I struggle much harder internalizing the idea of an entire pack of loose meese
speaking of accessibility features, i wonder how hard it would be to implement something like pluralkit for fedi? like some way to easily differentiate between alters/headmates/facets/[preferred term here] other than (e.g.) having to manually sign posts with emoji or something. may be a solution in search of a problem but could be useful for instances with lower character limits?
@gamemagprintads did the battle theme start playing in anyone else's head when they saw this?
Mag Launcher's "これでも!くらえっ!" is permanently burned into my synapses
"Libraries aren't just a place to obtain books for free. They're one of the few public spaces left in our society where you're allowed to exist without the expectation of spending money."
Trying to figure out whether "A Short Hike" is in Night in the Woods continuity because there's a character who's clearly Bea or if it's in Celeste continuity because they're both set in Canadian provincial parks

@aran there is an element of abstract thought this puzzle demands that i don't think the game clues quite well enough; it hints that there is some connection between the two passcodes and the antagonist's thoughts/motivations, but not to the alphanumeric cipher
i don't know what the finished translation patch goes with but i do remember offering some suggestions hinting a bit more explicitly at the passcode being a cipher
@aran more recently, i got asked for some assistance with an FDS adventure game called Dead Zone
the game's final puzzle is a doozy; it involves figuring out that the (wrong) passcode you've been given is an alphanumeric cipher for one word, and determining that the RIGHT passcode is a different word encoded into an alphanumeric cipher (mercifully, despite the game being in Japanese, the cipher and both words are in English!)
@aran thinking again about some of my adventures in fan translation
there's a bit in Breath of Fire 2 where the game tries to clue you towards finding a guy so you can take his place in a tournament
i gave my WIP to a friend to test, and he got stuck at that part, because the hint was too broad - you're told about the guy, but you're not given enough context to intuit why that information is important
i fixed it with a simple addition to the tune of "if you're not him, you're not getting in!"
