You ever think about how unique sentences are? Every day, we are producing and consuming combinations of words that have quite possibly never been said in that order in the history of our language.

Sometimes, this fact seems a little more obvious than it might most of the time.

The article is about an interesting linguistic strategy to "dilute" the sweary language of some parrots at a wildlife park by adding other parrots.

Who, presumably, don't swear.

Still have to... Write my own config file. Fine fine shouldn't be that difficult. But the right time to write it is probably not when I'm already aggravated by the noise!

for some reason for the last some while my laptop was just running its fans at a constant speed (they usually go hog at even the slightest temperature increase). Then I restarted and now they're back to going hog when the laptop isn't even that hot...

it's probably better for the laptop, but the noise drives me insane

@davidrevoy yay thank you for drawing it and making it free. I was very tickled to find it in Wikimedia.

I found a little gem of a movie, a scifi film from 1960 created by an East-German/Polish collaboration. It's called "Der schweigende Stern" (The Silent Star) and the only actor I know in it is Yoko Tani.

It suffers from much of the typical shortcomings of scifi of that era but there is a lot of good in it as well, and I enjoyed watching it.
