one interior design trend from ~100 years ago that i do NOT see having a vintage revival is "painting wood paneling/furniture in ugly opaque brown gloss paint that completely covers the original wood grain" which is funny because it was extremely popular even up to the 1950-60s

you still see it a lot in the few pubs that have survived the gastro-ification of the 00s where they were all painted gray and had everything stripped off the wood features. ofc now these days presumably all the outdoor wooden features are now rotting in the damp british climate

@troubleMoney yeah someone i knew had a bunch of it and was selling it to old people. apparently they'll pay a lot of money for it because they dont trust anything that follows EU safety standards
