Any time I've brought up the topic of electric kettles to a USAian before they've said "Oh, we don't use those because they take too long to boil on our power supply"
I have just learnt from someone in a different country on 120V that that excuse is bullshit and 120V kettles don't take too long at all
WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE FOR NOT HAVING ELECTRIC KETTLES NOW AMERICANS?
@InspectorCaracal evidently I've previously been talking to all the wrong americans
@troubleMoney My tea-enthusiast SIL uses an electric kettle pretty much all the time.
Like, she went to Japan to study Japanese tea ceremony stuff, that's what level of being into tea I'm talking about.
@troubleMoney Probably! XD I personally prefer a stove-top kettle, but I also prefer open-flame stoves to electrical elements and putting stuff in a pot to cook for a billion years instead of using a pressure-cooker and I have a hand-crank mixer instead of an electric one, so you can see this is a bit of a trend for me personally and not exactly a statement of inherent qualities. xD
