@kev@fosstodon.org @sydneyfalk the humanitarian things are mostly "eh, we've got people about, might as well do something useful with them" and the protecting people and peacekeeping missions tend to still involve guns and bombs and stuff

@troubleMoney @kev @sydneyfalk what are your thoughts then on the Royal Navy rescuing Syrian refugees in the mediterranean and the RAF airdropping supplies to areas afflicted by natural disasters? The army has also been called in to assist with wildfires and flooding.
I tend not to judge people doing a job I profoundly don't want to do, and probably wouldn't be cut out for anyway! 🤷♂️
