I was doing some brief research on a decent pocket knife to get (ended up with a Leatherman Micra) and wound up being introduced to the "EDC community"

These people are hilarious

They're wandering around carrying half a dozen knives, fishing kits, no less than 3 ways of starting a fire, and enough cordage to rig a yacht

And those are the ones not carrying at least 2 guns

THEY WORK IN AN OFFICE, NOT A WARZONE

@troubleMoney Don’t underestimate how quickly society will collapse when someone decides that crisps are a better compliment to fish rather than chips.

@troubleMoney Culinary monsters are everywhere.

We must be ever vigilant.

@troubleMoney Ugh yeah I was really into pocket multitools for a while because I needed to replace my old leatherman and got way too far into researching which one I wanted and I hate those "edc" blogs because they're often a source of good information about weird specifics of pocketknives and multitools but they're also just so bizarre and scary. There was one tumblr one that people submitted pictures to and I swear more than half of them had guns
Pls chill

@masklayer I went with the plain steel, seemed like the right colour for a leatherman tool to be

@troubleMoney yeah ok that's exactly the one my dad has
I prefer the squirt because of the steel file, but otherwise the micra's probably better (the scissors are probably more useful than the squirt/style ps's tiny pliers)

@masklayer if I need a file or pliers I'm usually in the shed where I've got a wave (and pliers and files and stuff) so I've not missed those, the bigger scissors on the micra have been super useful though

@troubleMoney I work in an office and found one of the smol victorinox sufficient for opening packages. And the screwdriver on the nailfile is small enough to open a PC case.
