A take, concerning the latest mastodrama

It's not that someone admitted to talking to the cops

Sometimes you have to, say, if there's a court order or if you feel the need to tell them to fuck off and die in a fire

It's the "proudly" talking to the cops

That's a bit like a hospital janitor saying that their absolute favourite thing to do in their job is to dispose of all the gangrenous limbs that have been amputated

It's weird and frankly a little bit suspect

@troubleMoney Gibson wasn't so much proud but more trying to play it off as a "working with the FBI isn't such a bad thing, its not like I'm working for them" sort of thing. I agree to a point but this sentiment entirely ignores the very rational fear minorities have of cops and feds.

@wolfcoder the slide did say "proud member of FBI's Infragard"

which is a bloody weird way of putting it

@troubleMoney the link got taken down so I can't review and double check, but was Gibson the one who authored the slides?

@wolfcoder yep, he did indeed, he was looking for feedback on them I think

I didn't save the post so I'm afraid it does come down to my memory

A take, concerning the latest mastodrama

@troubleMoney yeah I talked about how not everyone has a choice and that maybe we shouldn't immediately jump to conclusions.

But if he's (I don't see pronouns in Gibson's bio so I apologize in advance) going to be proud to be a whitehat that's just a big FUCK YOU and he seems entirely oblivious to this fact. A classic case of privileged techbro doesn't see the problem in a thing that's never affected them.
