The money from my half of the charity handwarmers thing has gone towards one of those mini-bike thingies that’s just pedals that you can put on the floor in front of the sofa, or on a table, so I can maybe start getting some low impact exercise. (£43, less than I expected!) #EDS

Update! My mini-bike thingy arrived but it is missing half the screws and washers it needs to be assembled, so I am going to go to the little hardware shop and see if they’ve got what’s needed, but if they haven’t I’ll have to get it replaced. UGH.

It turns out I was totally wrong, and the bits that I thought were missing were in the actual mini-bike already! So I'm trying it and it's great. I'm just absentmindedly pedalling while tweeting, 10/10.

I am on the sofa! Doing low impact exercise! I can totally see how this is better for my joints, because my legs don't really wiggle about much, they just stay in their joints, so it's all muscle stuff. Also it's very quiet so I could totally do it while watching TV.

Calories

It says I've burned 120 calories so far! How does it know??

Calories

@cassolotl An educated guess, probably. Also probably not accurate at all

Calories

@noiob That makes sense. :P Otherwise I've burned like 150 calories going less than half a kilometre in over half an hour! That seems very silly.

Calories

@cassolotl @noiob oh, also it could well be counting energy burned in calories (small c), whereas the Calories (big C) marked on food packaging are in fact kilocalories

Calories

@troubleMoney @cassolotl oh, I just remembered that it can actually quite accurately calculate the energy that has been used to move it

Calories

@noiob @troubleMoney Oh yes, that does make sense actually. Hmmm. :D

Calories

@troubleMoney @noiob I just checked the manual, and it says Kcal, so it seems like it's counting Big C Calories!
