I've been informed that yelling "WHEEEYYYY!!" any time a waiter/barman/etc. drops a glass on the floor, thus smashing it, is not a universal response
What do you lot in other countries do?

It's not even done all round the UK, it's rare to hear people cheering at a broken glass in London. 😢
