Sorry, closed networks no longer interested me. We have Mastodon now as an example of what could be, and it actually works, and lots of people actually use it. There's zero appeal to me for another "Facebook, but by a different company".

@noelle @tek so... it's basically the same model we use for 90% of the fediverse (free but accepting donations) but with queue jumping and only one choice of the amount you donate

and the donation amount they're asking for per user is enough to keep a small fediverse instance running
