Reminder that you could replace the Royal Family with the Queen's Corgis and still have nearly every benefit of a heredetary monarchy but without the problem of them being a bunch of twats.

Monarchists are always banging on about how the royals bring tourism but the stuff the folks really get enthused about is just the pomp and ceremony of the whole thing, not the weird humans behind it all.

If we replace humans with corgis we can actually INCREASE the tourism; corgis live for 12-15 years, which means a fresh coronation every decade or so. Also we'd get the same iconography, but massively lessen the running costs.
