i fucking hate drones tbh
on birdsite 1 or 2 years ago i had a period where i just droned on and on about how much i hated drones, how if i see a drone, i will destroy it etc. and i havent changed my opinion.!!!! if i see some rich kid land a quadcopter next to me, im stomping on it!!!!!!!! fuck drones. destroy every drone you see. its not just property-destruction-as-protest, we also gotta normalise the idea that drones should be attacked as a fun passtime. its either that or theyre takin over
send me your drone, and i will send it back, in pieces. thats my guarantee

@virus theyre just really boring, theyre annoying, they don't even DO anything? like theyre a good example of the whole "where is the future i was promised" vibe that the 2010s has had so far. all the advances in our culture have just been about mass-production of a surveillance apparatus & selling it to people who think it's cool somehow. the BEST you can hope for is that they put a pizza delivery guy out of his job. the more likely outcome is that they get used by authoritarians and terrorists
@troubleMoney @virus they're very useful for good things, but even more useful for bad things. e.g. you can send a bunch of drones somewhere to shoot a bunch of people, but you can't send a bunch of drones in after them to give medical attention to the wounded, can you? in theory you COULD, but in practice that won't exist for a very long time, because fixing something always requires a more complex machine than destroying something
