real talk (feminism, fatphobia, etc)

so i'm up too late icing down my shoulder watching trashy youtube videos and someone is tackling the question "is feminist" (and the answer is yes thankfully) but it does cause one to ponder the subject

obviously i'm not coming from the same point of view as a japanese woman - different culture pressures - but to me it's very much yes, and very much linked to my exerting myself as, well, not just a woman, but a woman who is fat

@wigglytuffitout I'm so glad you're opening up this discussion! The literal "point" to #LolitaFashion was basically very similar to the punk movement. Hyperfemininity--or my personal favorite term, "Aggressive Femininity"--is just as valid a personal protest tactic as minimalist fashion. It's still subverting beauty standards and allowing people--commonly marginalized people--to feel empowered by their appearances. Thank you for standing up for it!!!

@chaosonwheels23 it really is SO appealing in that way!! i am glad that the communities i've come in contact with, that rebellion and punk heart is still beating strong. that unapologetic nature of it is so wonderful to me! (ok i may still be starry-eyed because i've been reeeeeeeal careful about where i'm dipping my toes into but lmao still counts)

@wigglytuffitout feel free to stay starry-eyed! Don't let people hijacking the movement in some ways ruin your enthusiasm. It's important for the community to thrive! ^^
