so

again sorry about all these thoughts i'm about to jettison into the universe. but

so

i keep thinking about a rather interesting thing i read while looking up resources for someone awhile back - a tumblr about intersex advocacy. one of their posts was about how they - and thus the blog - did indeed consider PCOS to be a condition in the intersex header, if the person with PCOS thought it so.

and i was like: huh, interesting!

@wigglytuffitout so dude........I could just need to mind my business a bit here or maybe I'm misunderstanding. But I think the person who wrote that meant people who already identify as intersex can consider pcos related to their identity, not that other people who have pcos can call themselves intersex because they have pcos

@chaosonwheels23 honestly i might not be writing v well right now due to nyquil lmao, but they were pretty explicit about considering PCOS as a condition alone that can make someone Intersex Enough if they so choose?

i did get the sense though that it's a really rather broad widening of the umbrella, and the fact they explicitly took that stance means that it's probably not without controversy within that community tbh

@wigglytuffitout that could be! Carry on then lol

@chaosonwheels23 it's the ultimate cishet power move: I GET TO EXCUSE MYSELF FROM ALL DEBATES ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE CONSIDERED UNDER THE IDENTITY UMBRELLA WITH A "whoops looks like that's not me, bye everyone!" AND JUMPING OUT THE NEAREST WINDOW

@wigglytuffitout I mean that's like the definition of staying in your lane so I think you're okay lol
