unpopular makeup opinion:
i actually don't think every single bit of makeup needs to be vegan, and quite honestly i would rather have cochineal based pigment around my eyes than tones which have to be sold as "pressed pigment" with warnings to keep away from your eyes because they're made with red 40 and the FDA has not fully cleared it for use in eyeshadows
i don't think red 40 is unsafe mind you, but i do know that it does stain tae fuck lol
just give me some mushed up bugs it's fine.
"but all your fashion should be vegan!", someone may reasonably object
and honestly
i have gloves that have real rabbit fur trim and a pair of leather shoes. i think that particular boat has sailed. it has sailed and gone around the world and returned to port laden with exotic spices for me to use on my steak at dinner.
what i'm saying is if one wishes to critique my fashion for being non-vegan you got more stuff to deal with first over crushed up bugs in my eyeshadow, lol
