prudie whiffed it hard with his response to a letter writer whining about how his friends were all ruining their lives having kids and he has no empathy for them. i'm also childfree and not maternal but the dude was dripping with contempt and prudie's answer was to go 'nurture those feelings'. fuckoff with that. you don't have to love kids, you just have to be happy your friends are happy.
also if i really wanted to throw a grenade into the comment section, i would have gone more than just "prudie beefed it, the answer of ~go and nurture the feelings of your friends abandoning you~ is bad advice my dudes"
i would have thrown in the grenade to the comment section of "so, being a male-male couple and also dripping with disdain for those who have kids... have you considered your levels of picked-up-from-society-around-you misogyny lately? may be time for a detox there"
