@eightbitsamurai@elekk.xyz tbh i think me:a mostly got a raw deal because me2 and me3 were excellent. even if i think the story of me3 fucked up in the 11th hour, the rest of the game has excellent polish, the combat is honestly a joy (which is quite the switch from me1, it's like me1's combat is the fucking purgatory you must endure to get to me3's bliss)... it's a tough fucking act to follow. a lot of bugs at launch have been patched, and personally me:a didn't grab me, but what would after me3?
@eightbitsamurai@elekk.xyz it kinda reminds me of fallout 4 honestly. i personally think me:a and fo4 are both kinda meh, neither really grabbed me by the short and curlies as it were, but i know that a lot of that is that they've got a hell of a thing to follow.
when you're following a really, really truly excellent one-of-the-best-of-this-decade game, like fallout new vegas (YES I'M ONE OF THOSE FNV FANS SORRY), a game that's "good but not the best" ends up reading as a massive flop
