@AudreyJune have you looked at pricing the little at-home units?
a proper facial laser thing is like, hella expensive, but for the fair skin + dark hair combo wombo, the high intensity light ones are pretty reasonable iirc? i have a remington ilight widgery thing. i admit i haven't been keeping up with it because spoons, but it has super cut the regrowth time basically immediately. https://www.marieclaire.com/beauty/g18715687/best-laser-hair-removal/ is a potentially useful article to browse! :>
@AudreyJune no problem! :>
i find mine pretty easy to use. it whirrs intimidatingly as it cools itself but it's just kind of dramatic, not actually a problem. i haven't actually had any bad side effects other than "giving it 5/5, wooah now that's a little strong snap so let's just mosey on down to a 3 or 4"
..............i also think the one i have isn't *rated* for face, but uh, i haven't exploded yet soooo there's that? just, y'know, wear sunglasses and look away while using it probably.
@AudreyJune honestly, it seems to be working pretty good for my PCOS beard. i think the worst case scenario is that you just have to smack it more emphatically, but it does mean you get to do touch-ups at home instead of schleping yourself out and handing an aesthetician more money. ...and if all else fails, hey, it should work great for legs! (i haven't tried that yet simply because chronic pain hates me if i try to pretzelfy myself into leg shaving poses lmao)
@AudreyJune (it doesn't feel hot as much as it... pinches? snaps?? it's rather unique. honestly i can deal with it much better because it's just over very quickly and doesn't linger. i tried electrolysis in middle school and that was a bit of a fucking ordeal for sure, especially going literal hair by fucking hair... =_= )
