Skin Care Question

@baronvonjace oh hey a skincare thing i know a bit about

a lot of people love those biore strips but i've always felt they're way too irritating for my face, since, well, it's a sticky thing that also pulls off some top layer of skin cells etc. also they never seem to get the irritating little pores on the nooks and crannies of my nose.

but! i've found a bubbly mask that i've been using for pore cleaning out that i really like. >

Skin Care Question

@baronvonjace my pores are the size of fucken montana (genetics lol, it is what it is) so i think this is also one of the reasons it works well for me. the bubbles can get in there and kinda lift the stuff out.

it's also about 11 bucks on amazon too so that's nice! i use the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Clay Mask.

if your pores are getting like perma-clogged i would also recommend maybe adding in a toner into your routine! that's also helped me tremendously >

Skin Care Question

@baronvonjace to just slide it in between washing face and putting on moisturizer. i've been using the toner from lush, but the good ol' standby of thayer's witch hazel has been a staple for many years and a lot of folks love it! :>

Skin Care Question

@baronvonjace sure, lemme see what i can find for you!

the fizzy mask is a goopy one so you can just put it on your nose, which is a big plus to me. i don't put it all over my face, but more just the t-zone of where things are getting clogged. amazon.com/Elizavecca-Milky-Pi it comes with its own little spatula thing too which is really nice!

i really like lush's skincare stuff but that's partially because i have INCREDIBLY sensitive skin that really likes it, so... >

Skin Care Question

@baronvonjace honestly i'd say start off small with just a nice gentle face cleanser/soap and then some moisturizer after it. the idea is that the cleanser strips things down, so the moisturizer is really important so your body doesn't panic and make a shitton of oil freaking out because it's so dry. so you cleanse and then kinda immediately give your skin something that it will be happy with, so it doesn't freak out, LOL >

Skin Care Question

@baronvonjace my very picky skin favors lushusa.com/face/cleansers/fre , and then lushusa.com/face/moisturizers/ for the moisturizer

neither of them are strongly scented, just kinda herb-y, but i'm sure there are more masculine scented things out there too! but honestly heavy fragrance can often be irritating to the skin so my advice would be go with a scented beard oil you like and not worry about scent in your face products. >

Skin Care Question

@baronvonjace if you feel like you want to add in a toner, you can slide it in after cleansing, before putting on moisturizer. it kinda rolls out the red carpet and prepares your skin to really be receptive to the moisturizer. i use lushusa.com/face/toners-and-st , but target.com/p/thayers-witch-haz is a standby for many people. try to avoid ones with alcohol - it can be very irritating to the skin. just get some onto a cotton pad and wipe your face down, then moisturize. >

Skin Care Question

@baronvonjace i'm deffo banging on about calming skin stuff/non-irritating skin stuff because my skin is super super stupidly sensitive unless i feed it chamomile and happy thoughts lol. but also because when your skin gets irritated, it thinks shit's out to get it, and often produces a lot more oil and such, and this will absolutely clog up ya pores tae fook. so a lot of skincare that works ends up being "shhhh. SHHHH. CALM DOWN. caaalllmmm dooowwwwnnnn." lol

Skin Care Question

@baronvonjace that makes total sense! i admit i'm a bit of a perfume fiend but i've been trying to be a bit more mindful due to other people's sensitivities when i'm out and about. (but like... smell-goods... is nice................)

i think the only other tip is maybe look at getting some baby washcloths if you feel like your face is still getting scratchy/irritated - i love mine, they're much finer and softer than regular ones, but i have a very easily set off face LOL
