also i finally remembered to find the non-contact thermometer and checked and, indeed, my perception that my bad shoulder is warmer than the other (and that's why constant ice packs are so nice) is correct! it's about 98 on the skin whereas the other shoulder is 95 or so, and you can definitely feel the heat just.. radiating from it.

so i'm gonna propose referring to my surgery as getting my coolant levels checked
