actually, since we don't really see them from waist-down, i bet if you went for a big full skirt, you could have the outmost later/overskirt be shaped like the petals of their flowers
then just work out some clever way to gather them all up quickly and hold them all together, have the flower color be on the reverse of the skirt, hold it above your head and then let it all go to 'pop out'
maybe some fishing line to easily gather all the petal tips together...?
@wigglytuffitout this is a thing that's been done in stage costuming, actually, if you're serious about it I suggest research
@InspectorCaracal yeah, i feel like it's definitely a thing somebody's worked out how to do! i could probably find a tutorial on youtube if i went looking - transforming costumes are fucking cool as hell
plus with how cheap and easily available basic electronics are, i'm sure you could do something like "press a button and the skirt also begins playing the great fairy theme" LOL
@wigglytuffitout I can't remember the specific production but I've actually seen costumes that do exactly what you're describing <.<
that's way above my current cosplay weight class, so to speak (bc i don't even know how to fucking sew yet, much less how to do FANCY TRANSFORMING COSTUMES), but i'm gonna keep that one in mind
i'd also really love to cosplay Revan but like... multiple layers of black... and i'd probably be cosplaying at DragonCon... in Georgia... in the summer... while you're walking everywhere............ That's A Bad Time
at least as a great fairy i could be much cooler lmao
