gotta be up early... sofa/recliner delivery at somewhere between 8:30 and 12:30... pharmacy that hopefully sells cbd closes at 1 (as naturopath is out of office until past xmas)... then haircut at 2... all of these alone would be exhausting for any but all together?? on one day????? y'all

i also just now noticed that i'm about to run out of cbd oil pills so :psyduck: that's another thing to tomorrow's schedule

(i am gonna make some sticker + candy packs for the home depot 'rescue delivery' guys which i'm p sure is corpspeak for 'we're making a manager take one of the pickups we rent and deal with this' because they didn't deserve to deal with shit rolling downhill square onto their shoulders)

at least i know where the fuck the furniture i ordered is now. also trust no bitch at estes express. well ok the employees are probably all right but this is all because estes said they could do the delivery for home depot, then said "actually we can't make it to your house at all lol", after sending out the delivery guy to go rack up more tickets apparently and leaving him out to dry, at which point estes sat on its thumbs and refused to do anything at all with my shit

one monkey wrench removed, and then i accidentally flung it straight into another thing

whoops :psyduck:

people who dont like hard video games are

completely valid, you should play games how you want and dont let anyone shame you for appreciating art in your own individual way

@daemonologie now that is some quality secret santa-ing right there. (i may just like bjork overly much and be very biased)

the other essay i'd be writing if i was still living that english major life:

pixellation and intentional lo-fi graphics in video games functioning in horror as an 'offscreen' or 'seeing it happen in silhouette' - not showing details = actually scarier as the audience gets to fill in the blanks

ref. the secret room challenge mode cutscenes in sister location, lone survivor/obra dinn?, heavily compare to silence of the lambs (where worst horror is offscreen, more impactful for it)

its weird to think that the edgy stuff i was watching on the internet as a teen was like, absurd cartoon hyperviolence and not weirdo video game streamer personalities calling for ethnic cleansing

It's hilarious how quickly Philadelphians went from "I'm not sure about this mascot..." to "NEVER TALK TO ME OR MY SON AGAIN" when Gritty became a thing.

I've met Gritty. Honestly, Gritty has given me the best hug I've ever received and when we high-fived, his hand squeaked like one of those squeezy toys! I will defend Gritty to the death.

i had more points but i then got yelled at to come carry groceries in and they are completely lost to the ether

anyway if anyone needs an essay topic

lofi music : high-fidelity music quality in other genres :: pixel art : high-quality 3d rendering standard in many other games

intentional invocation of nostalgia, easier for 'little guy' artists to lean into in terms of work they can do with free/amateur tools, and has grown into a specific genre in its own right with almost exclusively "indie" cred

@doctorsidrat@fandom.ink that makes sense! i guess i feel the need to hunt down if anyone's been a bit of a historian, i want to know if it actually grew out of a subset of modern jazz - i'm betting yes honestly

@colon_three ohhh okay that makes sense

it's really lovely to know that you feel like you've 'nailed it' tho giving an accurate reflection of yourself, i can see exactly why those compliments are things you must cherish immensely! 💖

@colon_three this is going to mark me as someone who is so fucking old, and while that sounds like an amazing compliment and i'm not tryin to harsh that groove:

....i thought fursonas were supposed to be furry personas that are idealized versions of yourself? did... did that change in the like decade and a half i haven't been keyed into the furry comm or
