@troubleMoney i know right? i mean i'm sure they still have to deal with a lot of the paperwork hell i'm stuck in, but at least they get that satisfaction in the moment lol........
i just gotta hold in there though until my student loans are released from you're-disabled-for-now-let's-see-if-you-still-are purgatory to be fully obliterated
at which point hopefully i won't have to pay tax on all that as a monetary gain

@darksouls this is in fact Dark Souls-ish for MOOOOOOOON PRISMMMMMMM POWEEEEEEERRRRRR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ai9lzmhEBa8
i do feel though like someone who is a bit more in the thick of it than me should maybe start talking about the intersection of gender expression/gender feeling and chronic pain/chronic fatigue/other #spoonie stuff.
because i do believe there's something there, and probably a something quite interesting to talk about!
it's just that as 'cishet except mildly less girl on very bad pain days', i'm not the best person to explore it. someone should do so, tho.
in which a wigglytuff ponders her one gender wibble
i honestly don't think that i gain anything from exploring other labels and trying to insert myself into communities here.
"i feel solid i'm a girl, but on very bad pain days, i sometimes feel like girl at 80% saturation. girl at 5 inches to the left. nearly but not quite girl. heterosexual tho." if i tried to call myself queer for that, i think that i'd be seen as just an interloper - and i'd feel like one too.
in which a wigglytuff ponders her one gender wibble
because in all honesty, i think that i am not meaningfully different from cishet enough to give myself a different label.
it's just that sometimes chronic pain and fatigue mean that the power for the girl systems get run at 80% instead of 100%. and it's solely connected to pain and very much a sensation of "i don't have the resources to do all of this at once, although i'd like to, so something's gotta give".
in which a wigglytuff ponders her one gender wibble
so i think i came up with a really good metaphor to explain my one sort of gender feel wibbly -
it's really just that some days, if you listen closely, you can probably hear somewhere in my brain a tiny wee scotsman yell I'M GIVIN 'ER ALL SHE'S GOT CAP'N, BUT WE GOTTA CUT POWER TO THE GIRL SYSTEMS TO MAKE PROPULSION/LIFE SUPPORT STABLE
on that note, if #ffxiv players are on the #omega server, please feel free to swing on by and use my place as a small rp setting! http://bit.ly/bunclestail is the menu, http://bit.ly/wassailbuncletail is the new years special! (and the little shindanmaker i did where you can pull apart the new year's cracker and see what your character's fortune is, hehe)
"harp is a large part of your rp making menus and checking food history and suchlike?"
......yes.
it's my brand and in my defense, i think i'm pretty fuckin good at it: http://bit.ly/bunclestail
the 'fancy dinners' that my #ffxiv rp cafe offers are from menus borrowed more or less straight from victorian menus, but pared down a bit and me looking for the recipes that seem more simple. however i think a lot of the victorian foibles are still great to slide in there to rp - want to know your dinner is fancy? REST ASSURED, THERE *WILL* BE SOME SORT OF FOOD TRAPPED IN GELATIN, MADE IN A FANCY MOLD, TO ASSURE YOU OF HOW FANCY YOU ARE.
i have however taken analogues straight through all the way up to early edwardian period. for example, my rp cafe has a soda fountain! ...that is an expensive boondoggle LOL, and it just makes soda water, the syrups are mixed in by hand.
at that point i view recipes/historical analogues by class. if a character is paying, i'm comfortable with pulling recipes all the way on up to 1908 or so - but that's mainly for ul'dah's upper crust spending lavishly.
i will say that although revolutionary war era/colonial america isn't my fav time period (LATE VICTORIAN/EDWARDIAN WHOOO), i find it really useful for referring to when plotting out roleplay minutiae for #ffxiv roleplay.
i really really like domestic history and food history but ffxiv's wibbly setting makes #ffxivrp a bit hard to pin down. but i feel like colonial food is a good representation of "the common man's food available to everyone in eorzea; things everyone knows about and eats".
