people who don't like buttercream or ganache and instead prefer only fondant should be considered Extremely Suspicious

along with people who don't cry at the first 15 minutes of Up and/or that fucking damnable flying kiwi animated short, and are physically able to enjoy music but think all music entirely is not worth listening to

Extremely Suspicious.

EXTREMELY.

good news: took a real cute dog picture

bad news: forgot to move my meds out of the way before i did so it has a very clear and visible shot of one of my restricted medications with my full name on it so i can't post it whoops.

The sad history of Livejournal as a lens for understanding the state of social media today

@maple ah jeez. honestly i'm good at "they're channers" at this point. thank you for the warning, i'll try and keep my eye out for those names to avoid.

i may end up watching youtube.com/watch?v=EgH0pyo5Fb instead of delving into it myself (and/or am linking it so you can reward yourself with bunny binkies for dealing with bullshit)

see look at this.

i actually get what they were going for here. there IS a plate, but i think that the "joke" here in the presentation is actually cohesive, so i quite like it. (apparently it is parsnip honey confit, with chocolate sauce.)

the real sin here tho... the pot isn't edible!!! i feel like that's such a missed opportunity. it's like they started the joke but bungled the punchline a bit, and *that's* what bothers me

@maple on one hand, being a mastodon newbie, i feel a bit curious and compelled to figure out what's going on

but on the other hand, i'm getting the strong impression that the better part of valor here would be to just not even attempt to figure it out by delving into the nitty gritty.

so am i correct in that this is a "be glad you don't know what the fuck is going on, fortunate child, and keep scrolling" type situation

also i think that i need to detox on food snobbery somehow because i found a post of something being shamed on /r/wewantplates and actually.... found it quite charming and a good presentation

/r/ooer is basically the most best sub on reddit and i never post there because you can't improve on perfection.

now that computerfairi.es has bbcode, who will be the first to make their posts properly in the style of reddit.com/r/Ooer/

@cosmicrose@queer.party solution (because i also understand this. i ain't really a nsfwey furry but cloacas are my limit) - wolpertinger or skvader fursona with magpie wings!

@spongebob these are EXCELLENT and BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS and thank you for posting these fancy fellas

here's a super interesting fishy ive been lowkey obsessed with for years... this is a blue glaucus! you might have seen them around before because theyre so stunning!

it's actually a sea slug that feeds on portuguese man o' wars, it can store the venom from those for later use so it can Really pack a punch and i think thats just swell

tasteofhome.com/recipes/grandm i actually really really want to make this sometime, because this definitely reads like a depression era recipe that has stuck around (probably for good reason?? but LET'S SEE)

like how does the vinegar react in there..... what is the end result like.....
