Is there a linux app that does audio visualizations on PulseAudio devices? I control spotify over spotify connect to my linux tv computer but spotify has no visualization so my tv just sits with the playlist on the screen

Have you looked into "projectm"? There's a QT5 version that hooks into the pulseaudio system
