I gotta say, learning about the whole "one chime, two chime" thing with elevators has broken me. I just heard an elevator chime and, with absolutely no way to see it, still went, "Hmm. Going down."

In the US, at least, elevators have auditory signals for the direction they're going. One chime is up, two chimes is down.
