do .wav files normally sound weird on an awe32?

@Saxxon i'm not entirely sure, sounds like it's playing it at a much lower bitrate

@azushark Good, I was concerned it was the amplifier or something. Okay, so it sounds limited to digital playback. You have latest drivers installed, and the device is configured in Windows sound options to output at 44khz?
@Saxxon i have yet to grab the latest drivers for it (just working with default drivers for win98 rn)
@Saxxon huh, seems like it's an issue with Windows Media Player
@azushark Super weird! I'm really glad you found the problem. I got super concerned maybe it was the card
