but what if the hypothetical manga with better translation's contrast is so bad you have a tough time distinguishing what's going on? 🤔

maybe I would re-read it in raw, once I know the plot...
@dragonmagic I've read my fair share of scans where parts of the page are missing, even sometimes up to half of it or more to ever want bo go back to it. At least you can guess a botched translation, not so much with missing panels.
