ok, so the referral basically needs me to write what amounts to a short essay about why i want to be referred... and given that the appointment overran by 100% anyway, trying to do it wouldn't have been all that reasonable in place. also, i suck at speaking off the cuff... and the one who doesn't can't necessarily be relied on to give an accurate account, rather than saying what they think the other person wants to hear :-(
@thamesynne ugh, this sounds super inaccessible :(
actually newcastle seems to be one of the more modern GICs in outlook; the problem is that my GP doesn't know me at all (today was the 2nd time i've seen him) & also this is his first GIC referral... so he's not entirely sure what he's doing
@thamesynne so basically the problem is the GP? *sigh* standard
@thamesynne ahhh, ok
still, i'd much rather be able to self-refer; that, for me, is the real accessibility problem
@thamesynne yep
@lambdagrrl
in fairness, he would've done it all in the interview; it was me that raised the possibility of taking it away & writing something, instead of having to marshal answers to questions on the spot
