One big lie I wish we could kill off for good is the one that the conservative right is pro-freedom of speech and expression. Time and again they prove they mean "freedom for us, the boot for you" and yet credulous liberals still take them at their word and go all shocked pikachu when reality hits

Same goes for when they pretend to care about antisemitism to attack Palestine solidarity, or pretend to care about womens' or LGB rights to attack trans people, or so many other pretences. No one can stop them telling the lies but it should be treated as the fucking joke that it is when they do

(For the record I also consider Starmer's government to be conservative right & they do sometimes invoke this lie e.g. over Linehan recently but they're so fucking inept they can't even stick the landing & they're still letting the further-right score on them over it)

Obviously pointing out the hypocrisy doesn't stop THEM from claiming it because they know full well what they're doing. But would it be too much to ask for liberals and even right-libertarians to stop helping them get away with it every fucking time
