games about making levels
I really want to play Super Mario Maker 2, but I don't really have access to a switch.
I've tried out Levelhead, but I found the campaign required rediculously accurate timing, and it got frustrating after a few hours – I barely even tried the user made levels, because even the ones marked as "easy" were too hard.
Are there any other games that are built around community made levels?
(I used to be really active in the Portal custom maps community, and it was great)

Something I like about it is that, while it's a platformer, it's a bit more suited to explanation than to precise jumps, which makes it more relaxing to play.
I also really like the powerups that level creators can give to the player – they're an interesting selection of things:
• wall-climbing
• larger jumps
• double jumps
• an umbrella (to slow your fall)
• a third eye (to make invisible things visible)
• an enemy-detector
• a hologram creator

I also like that, unlike other games which allow you to make levels, each level is supposed to be a large-ish self-contained story.
Rather than stuff like Mario Maker, where you can only make one small level and you can't really tell much of a story.
The level that's included with the game, "The Machine", took me around 1.5 hours to finish, and that wasn't because it was hard, it was because that's just how long it is.

@lizardsquid I know Dustforce has had a good custom level thing (it's one of my favourite games) and I think said levels span from easy to ridiculous.
A couple things though:
-I found that as time goes on the community tended to lower the (player-submitted) difficulty ratings in a sense - what used to get 4 (around the difficulty the base game ends at) started getting 3's
-Though I think the stock levels are pretty good, finesse ratings are pretty hard.

@BatElite dustforce is great, although I've never managed to get particularly far through it...

@lizardsquid I'm pretty sure it requires you to hone skills yeah. :<

@BatElite I'm definitely going to try it again, next time I can access the gaming computer, thanks for the suggestion

@lizardsquid <3
IDK when the last time you tried is, but in 2014(?) they had the DX update. That added a bunch more easy levels.

@BatElite my problem was less the difficulty and more "forgetting that I had a game that I was already playing" <3
re: games about making levels
@lizardsquid have you heard of Zelda Classic? That's not really the same thing though. Also, a really weird game from when we were young comes to mind: Speedy Eggbert (which I think was called Speedy Blupi outside the US)
Isn't Dungeon Keeper kind of like this? I guess any tower defense game could count.

games about making levels (Knytt Stories)
finally got around to playing Knytt Stories again (which wsa suggested by @typhlosion )
it's really really good!
Although, due to it's age, if you want to try it, I'd suggest getting Knytt Stories+ and setting it to Zoom mode (otherwise it's in a window that's way too tiny on modern screens)
