oh man it's still wild to me that certain console ports of Doom 1 and 2 had super DUPER secret levels, that were ...
...

buggy as fuck and are like... SO fucking bad in design (Betray in Doom 2, and Sewers/e1m10 in Ultimate Doom, both for Xbox - assuming Xbox One, rather than classic, and pretty sure not 360... but can't be certain,... sigh. really hate MS's naming scheme for their consoles. VERY confusing), that they're literally commonly called "1994 levels".

@lizardsquid yeah they're ... Pretty awful. They're not even made by the people at Id, but the people who worked on Doom 3, and either they really suck at map making or they deliberately made terrible maps for a lark, but either way, they are really really bad and ugly maps lol

@lizardsquid like, this is the map of Sewers, the e1m10 map for ultimate doom on the Xbox. doomwiki.org/w/images/thumb/3/

Compare it to an actual episode 1 map, e1m3, toxin refinery
doomwiki.org/wiki/File:E1M3_wa

@lizardsquid you know, it kinda does. But it's meant to be sewers. Toxin refinery at least looks somewhat like an actual refinery building from the top, maybe. You could at least imagine it might be at any rate.
