alright so I finally figured out what to do about new boy’s wig

I want him to have basically a like, neon blue don bluth boyfriend cut, but such a wig don’t exist

I found what I wanted shape/texture wise from Monique Gold… which went out of business last year Lmao

so I got some old stock of it in white blonde to dye it, then realized MG wigs don’t do heat like… at all. Dying synthetics requires high heat 🥴

so after MUCH research I discovered alcohol inks can work! But how to test the color…

pulled together my little eBay bucks and shit, sorted by price lowest, and picked the first long white blonde Monique wig in a style I thought no one would pine after once they’re gone gone

So I’m taking locks of this thing, color coding with rubber bands, and testing 3 different ink brands’ colors

So they dried! One barely took the color. Two did great, but the color results were too like…. Aqua for me, because of the slight yellow tone to the fiber. So I took the most intense and experimented with three different levels of adding red :)

it’s so funny how immediately more intense/dark the blue looked, color theory yo

I actually did that 2 hours ago Lmao I just had to make the kids dinner so here’s the results

I lined them up! The two with a tiny bit and a bit more still of red are nigh identical, the one where I added a BIG squirt and thought it might just go purple didn’t, just a bit deeper and more muted than the rest.

Couple angles and a side by side of my favorites, now to pick one for the wig and take the jump
