video games

I have a conundrum.
I have some friends who've just started up a Minecraft server, and I want to play with them...

But Minecraft doesn't really hold much interest for me anymore, now that I've played it so much.

And I really want to play Vintage Story, since it looks like that's right up my alley, but I know that once I play Vintage Story I'm never going to play Minecraft again.

re: video games

does anyone have any thoughts on this?

@lizardsquid only the most basic, boring of opinions: just play what you want. if you don't feel like playing mc, i wouldn't

re: video games

@lizardsquid The thing to focus on here, I think, is the value of the play. I imagine that the point of running a Minecraft server is as a social endeavor. Even if you're not hyped about the game, you might be willing to be involved just to hang out with those people.

You could try to convince them to play the other game, but if they don't go for that, then your options are to play the other game alone, or play Minecraft together.

@lizardsquid you could get on the server and dodge the usual Minecraft loop; set your heart on making a menger sponge out of melons and don't worry about enchanting diamond armor this time
