"Hi," Daniel said after a long tense silence. Everyone lowered their guns.
"I'm Alex, and my friends are Alice and Erin," said the tall man armed only with a pistol and good looks, gesturing to the women beside him in turn.
"While only 1 of us can win, I doubt that we'll last anywhere near long enough - do you want to team up and see how long we can survive?"
"Sure," I said, "it's better than dying alone"
"hey!" said Daniel.

"Looks like she died a few hours ago," Erin said grimly, "we'd better get her out of here".
After disposing of the body, night had thoroughly fallen. As gunfire died down, I drifted off to sleep.
I woke to the sound of a jeep skidding to a halt. I cracked open my eyes and was immediately blinded by the sunlight streaming to my face. I grasped for my rifle as I heard the door being kicked open, and then shots rang out.

the fight lasted mere seconds - I know I killed someone, and I know that all 4 of them ended up dead, as well as Alice, but the rest is a blur.

Luckily, the house was empty, we quickly rearranged furniture, and even set up a manikin to confuse people. We had set up the perfect ambush, and the zone was closing in on the house.
The sounds of gunfire and death approached. Several people attempted to enter the house, and were decimated by our superior positioning. But they fought back - I was shot and bleeding profusely, and so was Daniel.
"I'm out of ammo," Alex said.

The zone had closed - the last group was outside the door. They rushed in, ill-prepared but decked out in gear - it was tough, and it nearly killed us. But at last, they were dead. Just the 3 of us remained.
I turned to Alex, to apologise. But he was just standing there, grinning and holding a grenade.
"Thank you both for all your help, but I've really got to get going," he said.
He dropped it on the floor and dived out the window.

Alice took out a map and spoke up, "we should get inside before night fall, it looks like this building will still be inside the zone come morning."
And so we trekked through the forest, dropping into the brush whenever we heard gunshots, no matter how distant. Eventually, we reached the house.
It was a rundown old wooden shack, any valuables it would have had were already looted. A corpse lay collapsed in the middle of the room.
