@cassolotl@cybre.space I chose "recommended by a friend", but what actually happened was someone I followed on twitter linked to a post they made on computerfairi.es, I thought the url was great and remembered it, and then a couple of weeks later I remembered the url, typed it in, and decided to make an account.
