The thing that Tokyo Japanese does where certain vowels get deleted in speech is called vowel devoicing and I literally don't know why because I'm looking at a spectrogram Right Now and there's no vowel at all it's just gone. Why do we call this devoicing?

@lizardsquid No idea. Maybe it's a portmentau because you're repeating a string by duplicating it?

Maybe it's just cos it sounds cool. =P
