I'm gonna make a portable computer with an e-paper touch screen

problem: this will cost like $300 (for something like a raspberry pi + the screen)

so while I save up, what should I use? A raspberry pi? is there something better suited/cheaper?

@lizardsquid Are you using e-ink for the power saving or for the aesthetic? If the former, you might want to look into memory LCDs (I know Sharp makes them, dunno about other manufacturers); they draw nanoamps iirc when static

@lizardsquid I have no helpful resources, but I just wanted to say this sounds really cool!

If you have success I hope you document it. I've been thinking about trying to shove an e-ink screen into a laptop form factor for the last couple years, but I've never been quite sure how.

How about an old android phone, rooted with Debian loaded on it?
