I looked it up and it's not just one language: there are numerous languages across the world that use whistling in their speech.

@lizardsquid tbh more linguistics programs need to have, like, a class or something that focuses on this sort of thing. Like, just 16 weeks of learning about different overall classes of languages.

I guess that would be some kind of typology class? Iunno, I just feel like my program could have done a better job introducing us to things like this.

@lizardsquid I think we had a phonological typology course? Maybe? But if we did it was taught by the professor I absolutely couldn't stand so either way I missed out. ;A;
