nixos, linux (~)

back when I was using nixos, I thought all the problems I was having were because nixos was weird

but no

I get the same amount of frustrating technical problems on arch and on manjaro and on sabayon and on ...

linux is an awful conglomeration of terrible hacks

also I can just use the nixos package manager on sabayon, so that's what I'm doing from now on, because honestly it's the best package manager I've ever used and nothing else comes even close

@viomi tried it several times, still not as good as nix, sorry

it's pretty nice, though

@lizardsquid open source development finds a quality bar where it is easier to deal with the program than it is to rewrite it, and does not improve further without corporate sponsorship unless it’s still someone’s passion project

@lizardsquid yeah this is one of the reasons I use macOS since I need something Unix that I don’t have to fight. And generally why enterprise things run something Debian-based or RHEL/CentOS
