@squirrel because the W3C mandated DRM support as part of HTML5. There are few safe web browsers any more(GNU #Icecat , #Palemoon , #Torbrowser and my own fork #palermoon and what, elinks??? plus a couple others) and they have a vanashingly small % of the www as userbase. It's time to regroup on some other platform that does hyperlinks and WWW-like things.
