i miss the old internet. when everybody was making stuff. now if you don't know at least two separate programming languages and a command line interface good luck making anything for web. flash made all of that easier. i miss flash games and animations.

when i was 10 i took an extracurricular course at my school (i went to a rather posh school back then) for making flash games. not much came out of it from my end but the flash authoring interface fascinated me and i could do so much in it. hell even making vector drawings on it by pulling the lines where you wanted it to bend was way easier than the crummy guessing method of using bezier curves in any other vector image editor

back when flash was still a thing i had friends making animations on it, recording the voices for it in their bedrooms and it just seemed /fun/. idk any good animation software that works like flash did these days nor anyone using them anymore. games? hope you like learning unity.

and i guess now unity is the closest thing with all the fun quirky little indie games coming out made on it but like. it doesn't feel the same

@squirrel you can make a point and click game in flash in a couple hours

Unity? how are you even supposed to do anything in unity

@squirrel We should bring back HyperCard, too. I'm still blown away by how someone made a Street Fighter-style game in it.
