tfw slightly scared mastodon is not isolated from ppl who were bad on FB and that I'll run into them here
@troubleMoney yeah but a lot of the people would consider themselves to be radical leftists and these kinds of safer spaces are a magnet for them, and their badness was a slow burn kinda thing
@synthgal those people tend to end up on anticapitalist.party, which is an instance that's blocked here

@squirrel does a really good job of blocking terrible people for us
@synthgal that's where the whole "instances" thing comes into its own
All the terrible people tend to join instances with all the other terrible people on (because they usually get banned from the instances full of nice people) and then the entire instance can be blocked
Saves a lot of time and hassle
