So like with mastodon what happens if this instance goes down? Do I just lose access to mastodon entirely and have to remake on another?

@synthgal In the current system if your instances goes down then you would lose access. There are other systems, like Hubzilla, where it's possible to have a nomadic identity across multiple instances, so that if one fails you could log into another.
@synthgal There's ways to transfer accounts to other instances (sort of) so if our admin tells us that she's going to shutdown computerfairies, we can move stuff over to somewhere else
