i have a perfectly good ryzen machine a few feet away from me and yet i spent the whole day on my bed on a 10 year old core 2 duo thinkpad

@squirrel @troubleMoney by which I mean give up on getting windows 10 to run well on it and just use it as a Linux machine all the time

@masklayer @troubleMoney yeah no clue how well windows 10 would run on this machine specifically but xubuntu 16.04 is a wonder on it

and the wacom tablet screen works perfectly, eraser side of the stylus and all

@troubleMoney it's just ???? how is this still so capable? i guess firefox quantum optimizations are to be thanked, but like

everything i do is on web anyway so i don't

even need anything more than this

@squirrel Depends a lot on the OS on it, linux is great, but my dad uses a far more recent laptop than mine and it runs slow as molasses on windows 10

@troubleMoney somehow i feel like xubuntu 16.04 runs worse than this on a way newer i5 laptop that i use as my main commute

@squirrel That might be down to hardware support, with thinkpads being as popular as they are I'd hazard a guess they've seen a lot more optimisation time than other brands of laptop
