C#'s autocomplete in MSVC2022 is so fucking aggressive

like okay I have a visitor class, bunch of Visit functions with overloads for each node type.
I type:
public override Node Visit

... so far so good everything's cool.

the second I add "(" to that I get this:

public override Node Visit(ArrayInitializerExprNode node)
{
return base.Visit(node);
}

it just picks the first Visit function to override and completely fills it in. Naturally it's not at all the one I was trying to fill in, so now I have to undo all that and then type it in myself anyway.

Does anyone have any idea where to turn this behavior off? I can't find it anywhere and this is driving me up the damn wall.

Engineer: I need 50 units of special exclusive tea. For reasons.
Me: alright bet, it’s not TOO too far out to the EAST INDIA TRADE COMPANY system (😳)
Station: You can have 15.
Me: okay… When will you have more?
Station: When you get back 🙃
Engineer: 🙃

why are you like this 🤣😭

Okay that is a successful surgery! The Rudder pot was acting crazy even with a 50% dead zone looked like Jim’s shootin’ hand.

I’d hoped to get it apart, but the assembly was pretty complex, so instead I used a 23g hrt needle to precisely inject some IPA under the pot cover. Twisted it to share love, then let it rest before reassembly.

Now it’s lookin like Jim’s other hand: steady as a rock.

I wanna be flying spaceships but I had to tear down my flight stick to troubleshoot an issue with the rudder axis.

Maybe tomorrow

Day one of recording, in the books 😩😮‍💨😌

Looked at a couple video clips a friend caught in the studio and I def see some room for improvement, but we’ll see how the takes all shake out in the mix! We’ve got six more recording days, or, well, nights. Scheduled this week. Plenty of time to get it all 🤌🏽

@tdp I had everything mapped out to the HOTAS with I think a single exception for something I mapped to spacebar. It was a science to never have to come out, now with the new star map it’ll be even easier 🤩

Flying in VR in this game ruined basically all space flight games that aren’t VR. And, honestly I can’t decide if I love it or hate it for that 🤣

@tdp i don’t actually have odyssey yet, and I’m on the fence about getting it at all since everything I love about it involves the VR side of things.

I am curious about running around on foot though, so I’ll keep an eye out for a sale or somethin.

So I hadn’t played since before Odyssey came out, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot the last month or so.
Was messing around with MW5 mods yesterday and tried out a VR one, and I tell ya, looking around that cockpit gave me FEELS.

So now I’ve had to patch the client and poke around the new menus and things. Can’t wait to actually take to the stars again. 🤩🌌

you know, in most languages, the word for "Mother" starts with an M sound, except in English, where we say "Earthbound"

I wish I had room for both my drums and my Index. I wanna fly spaceships again but VR ruined me and I won’t do it in 2D again.

Between Elite Dangerous and House of the Dying Sun, and even the inedible jank of No Man’s Sky, literally any 2D screen of spaceship cockpit just feels false now.

Did a lil duet video with a friend of mine’s video. How fun 😁

As you might have read today, #Adobe is doing really bad stuff (toot.cafe/@baldur/109630505660).

Fortunately there are many projects you can follow on here which are providing free open source alternatives:

➡️ @darktable - Photo software which lets you organise, view and develop raw image files

➡️ @Krita - Professional digital painting & 2D animation app

➡️ @kdenlive - NLE video editing software

➡️ @inkscape - Vector illustration software

➡️ @Blender@mastodon.social & @blender@video.blender.org - 3D animation and special effects

FNA (a port of XNA we used for Celeste) now officially supports consoles with C#'s NativeAOT. That means you can compile C# directly for consoles, which is something I've been looking forward to for years. Very exciting for the future of C# games!
