@blythespirit hey there! ;=3
gotta cleanse the palate with a bit of Devilman no Uta ;=3
Neon Genesis Evangelion, Leliel
@Alyx Riight? Aisling was rewatching the whole thing recently (she's stopped after episode 19), and just like... Leliel wants to help, he's the first one of their kind to reach out across the divide between Lilim and Adam-folk(?) and what does he do, basically gives shinji a therapy session. Little rough around the edges, but again, first time this has ever happened probably.
Neon Genesis Evangelion, Leliel
@blythespirit @kara_dreamer@plural.cafe heh, well, I just thought of the episode where Leliel appears (I had to look it up) it was a great one. one that I think speaks to anyone who's plural
@blythespirit @kara_dreamer@plural.cafe *grins* somehow I guessed that one
@DarkWitchClaire *blushes* just a hoss girl getting by...
@lambdagrrl yah. like, I think a specific electrode for estradiol is something that can be made
@lambdagrrl oh I've thought about how
@Shadejackrabbit there's a lotta truth in that
@DarkWitchClaire cute *whuffles*
@DarkWitchClaire *whinnies*
home steroid hormone monitoring
this has gotta be achievable. tell you what I'm imagining
you prick your finger like you're doing a blood test for glucose, and you just dab the blood on some machine's sensor pad and you get estimates of estradiol and estrone and testosterone and so forth
or, lower-tech, semiquantitative analysis: you get some kind of color reaction and you compare colors to a chart, like you're using a pee strip
how does that strike people?
on making injectable estradiol
@foxwitch@queer.af @kara_dreamer@plural.cafe so Kara used to know this really fearsome and angry trans woman chemist on Twitter who was super smart and wanting to work on a plan to turn estradiol pills into estradiol valerate in peanut oil suitable for injection. it's a lot of work. so many technical challenges to make a _safe_ product
maybe we should look into it ourselves. it's beyond our ability but maybe someone else can do the thing
Not all cults are religious
Right on. During the past few years, I've been doing a little reading about cults, since I wanted to learn if it was possible to stop one's self from falling for a cult. After I'd learned about the red flags and manipulative tactics of cults, I noticed that a lot of secular organizations use them, just the same. I was so creeped out when I realized that training videos for a minimum wage job have a lot of the red flags of cult indoctrination, making sure that workers stay obedient, fearful, ignorant, and don't unionize for their rights.
