it's an hour later and i'm still angry at mariners fans being happy about springer getting hit like that, just because he supposedly cheated with the astros, forgetting the fact that 1: he was one of the only people to publicly apologize for it and acknowledge it and 2: he evidently wasn't very involved considering his stats didn't drop off a cliff when the cheating stopped, it's like finding out a kid got hit with a truck and saying he deserved it because his friends cheated at a maths test

it is important to remember that we are only one game down, and that the seattle mariners are a team without honor, they will fall in battle and their souls are certainly bound for gre'thor

i'm sure brendon little is a nice guy off the field but jesus christ a 10 year old could have hit a home run off that pitch

normally i'd say hey, we can come back from a 4 run defecit, but apparently the mariners genuinely hate springer so much they'd intentionally try to hospitalize our best hitter

if hoffman had gone in first in the 8th this would have been a 1 run game for the jays and we'd have avenged the hit job on springer, god damn it

Fun fact, 100% of Canadian MLB teams made the playoffs this year. As opposed to only 3 of 29 ignoring the wildcard round for US teams. Bad showing by US teams really, maybe they should just pack it in and concede that Canadians are better at baseball.

It really sucks that because of current us politics we can't have a normal baseball world series for the blue jays, any team that knocks the sole Canadian team out of the playoffs is going to be celebrated by a bunch of right wingers and trump supporters. apparently the US/fox broadcast is spending a significant amount of time talking about the yankees, a team that is completely eliminated from the playoffs, at this rate mariners fans may have more luck getting good commentary on their team by watching the blue jays broadcast #alcs

@selectric half of me just wants to get to the world series, and half of me wants the mariners to have a good shot because at least they're not the yankees, here's hoping it's an interesting series

@selectric jokes aside, this is absolutely what lukes is on the team for, he's fantastic at making a starter sweat, get them to double their pitch count every time he's at bat, and get sloppy and throw a meatball he can turn into a double

@selectric we put the game on to watch last night at like, the bottom of the 9th for what we thought was gonna be a quick last inning win for the mariners and we stopped watching at the end of the 13th for our own sanity....
