theres a really fun bug in tusky where i can't actually open the filters menu at all so every time a hashtag that annoys me takes over the federated timeline i just block everyone posting it. mercifully i no longer see 'monsterdon' spam and soon whatever this 'notgpn' thing is will be silent as well

i am looking for a database of video games, or a way to scrape to build one

initially, i need:

  • title
  • genre
  • platform (aiming for DS for starters)
  • release date
  • region
  • boxart is a nice-to-have i can figure out how to get separately

i have looked at: gametdb, thegamesdb, launchbox, rawg. for different reasons (the biggest one being erroneous data) they don't work for me. the most accurate data come from sources i can't easily scrape (like mobygames)
